Born in Southern California, Marina Sakimoto spent her formative years continuously creating, from leading her first rock band to taking up film photography. When her mother showed her how to use Photoshop in high school, Marina integrated her eye for design with her creative endeavors.
Marina moved to New Zealand in 2014 where she started her music project Shunkan. Within two years, she was selected for a $10,000 NZ On Air artist grant, landed the cover of NZ Musicians Magazine, and attracted the attention of international press such as The Guardian, Spin, BrooklynVegan, Noisey, BBC6, and many more.
When Marina returned back to Los Angeles, she experienced a work-related injury in 2017. Though she was devastated by the news that she could no longer work in her long-time field of massage therapy, she decided to take the opportunity to do something she had always wanted to do: go to college for music.
Marina graduated in 2019 from Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music with an A.S. in Music Business. She was awarded with the Outstanding Student Award in her program and was placed on the Dean's List.
With her passion for the arts, business, and design, Marina feels absolutely grateful that she can spread her wings within her own business and apply total attention, care, and detail with every one of her clients.
